Blackpool beach voted the best by British Public

Blackpool’s beaches have been voted the best in the world!

In the latest in a string of awards, Post Office Travel’s Holiday Feelings Barometer survey found the resort’s golden sands were thought of as the best beach by British tourists, putting Bondi and Malibu in the shade!

And while Blackpool’s beaches may not have their 40 degree heat they certainly have had their fair share of praise in recent months.

Earlier this year all of Blackpool’s beaches – South, Central, North and Bispham – scooped Seaside Awards from Keep Britain Tidy for the second successive year.

Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “It’s a fantastic accolade.

“I think a lot of people would be surprised about just how nice our beach is. It’s not only the cleanest it’s ever been; it also has some of the best views in the UK.

“It helps make Blackpool the ideal location for a day trip, a weekend break or even a week-long stay and I hope it makes people from the town proud.”
