Investigative Skills Company Celebrates 7 Years Of Training

Preston based training company Sancus Solutions is celebrating completing seven years of delivering high quality investigative training products.

Sancus are the UK’s largest dedicated investigative skills training company who have developed an unrivalled reputation for training in areas such as investigative interviewing, courtroom skills and open source internet investigation.

There are hundreds of companies and organisations throughout the UK who now carry out investigations. These can be police forces, local authorities, NHS Trusts or private companies who have to protect their assets.

Although based in the North West Sancus have delivered training courses throughout the UK and abroad. The company mantra is ‘If you haven’t done it, you can’t talk about it’ which means that all the trainers have expertise in carrying out major investigations. Sancus trainers have travelled far and wide to locations including Rwanda, Singapore, the USA and Bahrain.

Sancus are an SFJ Awards approved centre meaning that the company can offer formal accreditation for all their training. This reassures customers that the courses are backed by a rigorous quality assurance programme.

Founded by two former senior police investigators, Mick Turner and Tony Hester, the company is also proud to have delivered training to every one of the 43 police forces in England and Wales. However, many of the courses on offer have much wider appeal.

The PEACE model of Investigative interviewing is used by anyone who carries out interviews with witnesses or those suspected of wrongdoing. This can include HR professionals dealing with alleged misconduct in the workplace, local authority investigators or private companies addressing fraud matters. The course delivers a structure which helps anyone get the most from an interview by proper planning and structure.

  • It’s also possible to use e-learning to improve your knowledge of how to carry out an investigative interview. This means you can study at your own pace at a time of your choosing. The e-learning package costs just £24 and you can find more details by following this link http://www.sancussolutions.co.uk/investigative-interviewing-e-learning/
  • The nature of investigation has also changed because of the amount of information available on the internet. Pounding the hard pavements has in reality been largely replaced by sitting at a computer. Open Source Internet Investigation – or OSINT to it’s friends is an area of growing interest. However just as with physical investigation those using the World Wide Web need to know, as well as where to find information, how to do so safely and ethically. The OSINT course looks at areas such as harvesting intelligence  from social media, publicly available sources and the dark web. The two-day course is presented by Colin Tansley who is an intelligence specialist and it is running in Manchester starting on 4th October.
