Issue 8: Top Social Media Posts of the week

I’d like to share with you my top social media posts this week which feature Google authorship, Social Media Rules and Selfies.

1. Google plus removes authorship photos

If you have google plus and a blog you may have applied for google authorship. Your blog posts used to appear with a lovely photo of yourself and a count of people google plus followers…not anymore! These google photos have now been removed…why? Could it be that the images are a search distraction and are costing advertisers clicks? Many others like Larry Kim think this is the case.

2. Social Media Rules Most Entrepreneurs Don’t Follow

When it comes to social media, interaction is the key. Are you a giver or just a taker? This articles describes 3 simple ways you can interact with people who follow you. Firstly be quick to reply to any questions they ask. Second and thirdly if someone shares your content thank them by a ‘like’ on facebook or by a quick ‘thank you’.

3. 6 Facebook Pages Using Selfies for Social Media Marketing

You can’t go anywhere now without people taking selfies on the street, in a shop…but now businesses are using them as a way to market on social media. Are you? See this post for examples of who are using selfies them to their advantage.

That’s all from me. If you like this post please sign up to our newsletter for updates.
