Cockermouth food festival, 26 – 28 September

Taste Cumbria is returning to Cockermouth for the fifth year of our incredibly popular flagship food festival!

With over 30,000 people attending last years celebration of Cumbria’s finest food and drink, the stage is set for yet another amazing weekend of artisan treats and gourmet flavours. Main Street will once again host over 100 of the county’s top producers, though the market this year will run alongside Taste Cumbria’s increasingly popular live cookery demo stage!

Also making a welcome return to the festival are the Market Place Food Court, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat or just taking a break; Cumbria Life Masterclasses, once more held in Riversmeet; and the Taste Cumbria Beer Festival, where Jennings Brewery and CAMRA are bringing the finest ales and craft beers from across the county to whet your appetites.

Michelin-starred chef, Simon Rogan, is bringing a taste of L’Enclume and Claridge’s to the Taste Cumbria pop-up restaurant. Each sitting will see four courses prepared by the amazing chef, each paired with a specially selected glass of wine, followed by coffee; tickets are on sale now for what promises to be a truly delectable experience!

The Trout Hotel will be hosting a marquee with tapas, antipasti and champagne and strawberries in their beautiful garden throughout the weekend, as well as several special evenings of entertainment. Friday will kick-start the weekend with a night of stand-up comedy, with pies from the award-winning Cranstons and Jenning’s Cumberland Ale. Lakeland Distillery are taking over on the Saturday, serving up their home-grown spirits and live music for Whiskey, Gin & Beats. Finally, Sunday is a more formal affair as we close off the festival in style over an evening with celebrity chefs.
