People visiting Preston will have the chance to dine with Coronation Street star Kym Marsh as well as TV chefs Aldo Zilli and Ed Baines as part of a month-long campaign to profile the city’s eateries.

‘Love Food, Love Preston’ is back this August for the fourth year running, thanks to Preston Business Improvement District (BID), with restaurants and eateries embracing the month-long campaign with their own unique offers.

Throughout the month, diners will be able to take advantage of exclusive £10 and £15 offers at all the participating eateries, all of which will be advertised through a dedicated website helping to showcase the campaign and their restaurants across the North West.

On August 22, people booking tables at city centre restaurants will have the chance to eat alongside Kym, Aldo and Ed as part ofDine with the Stars, which returns after acclaim from restaurants last year.

Earlier that day, a large number of stalls will trade in the city centre during the ever-popular Lancashire Market, which is now a firm fixture in the foody calendar.

BID manager Mark Whittle said: “This campaign is to profile the city’s eateries and showcase the great food, service and welcome that Preston offers.

“We want to bring new people into the city to see what there is, but also encourage those people who already dine her to try some of the restaurants they haven’t been to before.

“Preston is the only place in Lancashire to hold Purple Flag accreditation, which rewards excellence in managing the evening and night-time economy, and during assessment the judges told us they were very impressed with the city’s restaurant offer.”

Last year, celebrity chefs Jean Christophe Novelli and Paul Rankin were joined by TV favourite Sherrie Hewson in touring some of the city’s best-known restaurants.

Mr Whittle added: “Last year, some of our restaurants said it was one of the best nights they had ever had and with another top trio coming to town this year should be just as good, if not better.”

Fran Toal, manager of Preston’s Restaurant of the Year, Turtle Bay in Birley Street, said: “We have only been in the city a short while and so far it has been an incredible journey.

“There is a tremendous amount going on in Preston and there are lots of great places to eat and drink.

“It is marvellous the BID team are helping us to showcase everything Preston has to offer and I cannot wait for this month-long celebration to get under way.”

Love Food, Love Preston was first launched in 2012 by Gino D’Acampo.

Eateries participating in the campaign have their special £10 and £15 offers advertised on the www.lovefoodlovepreston.co.uk website, take a look!
