Health event for Blackpool residents with learning disabilities

Blackpool Community Learning Disability Team is running an event designed to give people with learning disabilities the chance to have their say in reviewing and planning local health and social care services.

The Big Health Event, on 26 November between 9.30am and 4.30pm at Blackpool Football Club, will bring together a range of services all in one place.

A series of workshops will be held throughout the day as well as games and competitions and there will also be a surprise VIP guest.

Cllr Kath Rowson, Blackpool Council’s cabinet member for adult services, said: “The Big Health event was a great success last year and I’m sure that it will be again this year.

“It’s extremely important that people with learning disabilities are offered the chance to have their say about the services that affect them in an environment that is suitable to help them communicate their needs and views effectively.”

To book your place, please contact Lizzie Liley on 477803. Lunch will be provided.
